Russian developer 3dEyes, who wrote the NaviTracker fork of OpenTracker, and has ported SAMBA 2 and 3 to BeOS has started work bringing support for the DjVu image compression format to BeOS. This innovate image compression system is designed mainly for storing scanned images at very low storage sizes, and has been chosen by The Internet Archive to store its Million Book Project.

He is currently working on command line conversion tools, an image translator and a Mozilla plugin for the format on BeOS, but already has a native DjVu image viewer ported, which can be seen here.
