[email] [print]  Firefox Gets Drag and Drop

Apr 12, 2005 21:52 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist.
From the insanely-dragging-links department...

As ScottMC of BeDrivers reminded me about, the BeOS port of Firefox now has drag and drop - at least internally, and to BeOS.

A number of posts recently have mentioned tqh (formerly known as Decaf)'s progress on drag and drop in Firefox, and as a comment (on the first post) by Koki shows, all is working now within Firefox itself.

As users who have used Firefox on other platforms will know, you can open tabs in Firefox by dragging links to the tab bar, amongst other useful features. Until tqh provided an implementation for this, this was not possible under BeOS's Firefox.

In addition, a screenshot, unhelpfully with no explanation (:-p) shows a 'BeZilla Drag Item' on tqh's desktop. A quick guess is that this is a bookmark dropped to the desktop in a format which Firefox can open. Although that is a guess :-)
