The second
PartyZip@ event will be held from the 8th to the 10th of July in Monzón (Huesca), Spain. This is a Spanish-language technological fair, which also featured BeOS last year. This year, however, the
Haiku project is being represented by none other than lead kernel engineer, Axel Dörfler.
According to the
Timetable, Haiku is being represented for 3 to 4 HOURS of talks, an exceptionally large amount for a general purpose conference. In comparison, NetBSD (a stable and full server operating system) gets 2 hours, as does the KDE project.
Other activities at this years event will be a large LAN party (with the network reported to be able to carry 120 people sharing a 20Mbit external internet connection), which will feature prizes.
I'm taking a guess that Axel's talk will be in English, as I doubt he's fluent in a third language... if he is, he might consider a career in linguistics over one in computing. The schedule for the Haiku talk is in English; the rest are in Spanish, if this gives any indication.
Registration takes place over at the
PartyZip@ website. It will certainly be an interesting event for any BeOS users who are able to go. Those travelling from abroad who may want some information on how to get there can contact
bencer@cauterized.net.
Thanks go to [nitro] for the heads up on this one.
