Those with good memories might remember the the two previous instances of Waltercon were announced either preliminarily or fully by around this time in the years they were being held. But Waltercon 2006 hasn't. This doesn't mean that the US-based Haiku user and developer conference is disappearing, though.

Both previous events, in Colombus, Ohio and Las Vegas, Nevada, have been held in August, leaving it a little late to organise one for this year. But Haiku project leader Michael Phipps has posted to the Haiku mailing list looking for suggestions as to this years event.

With a date in October or November being touted, the event is likely to move back towards the east coast of the USA; and Michael wants to change the format somewhat. Suggestions as to when/where and who would be best for the event are being sought, which you can email directly to Michael.
