[email] [print]  Counter-Strike! An Argument to the 4GB Memory Limit

May 15, 2008 20:14 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the smackdown department...

Jess "SHED" Tipton has written up a blog entry with his concerns, and we thought we'd let our audience know, perhaps raise a bit of discussion about the subject, even.

Personally, I agree with a few of his points, in that eventually we would all like to see Haiku eek every last ounce of CPU power from modern hardware. However, I'm well aware that the Haiku Developers are first laying down the foundation for a stable operating system, upon which we can build a kick-ass system.

The stated goal of the Haiku Project is to first create a binary-compatible version of BeOS R5, (with benefits) and then evolve along the same ideology and concepts we've grown to appreciate in BeOS. Exciting times ahead, indeed!
