[email] [print]  BeZilla Wants You(r Opinion)!

Jul 11, 2003 11:08 UTC, by Daniel, Senior Journalist.
From the poll 'em up department...

Over at BeZilla.org, Paul is asking everyone's opinion on something. I'll let him do the talking:

"For over 6 months now, there has been a "fork" or "collection of patches" distribution, that I am sure you are all aware of. It's name is StripZilla. Originally, this distribution of mozilla was a Browser Only distribution, with patches for the BeOS port from mozilla.org's bugzilla. Over time, the developer/maintainer of StripZilla, Sergei "fyysik" Dolgov, has done a LOT of work on the libgfx_beos.so library for mozilla, sometimes referred to as the "jetGfx" patch.

The one difference with this patch, however, is that it does not exist within mozilla.org's bugzilla database. This is something I would like to see change. Over the last 6 months, I have asked Sergei multiple times to submit a patch to bugzilla, so that the two of us could work together to make the code ready for committing to the mozilla.org CVS repository.

(...)

So, I have attached a poll to this article. Please cast your vote on whether you feel Sergei should submit his changes as a patch, no matter what state they may be in. In this way, we could combine efforts to make the Mozilla/Suite for BeOS better for you, the community member."

So what do you think? Should Sergei (by the way, met him when at BeGeistert, he's a real nice guy, though he's way too much into Tatu...) submit his patches as they are, clean them up before or do whatever he wants? Head over to BeZilla.org and give your vote on this.
