[email] [print]  Project X Priority List.

Dec 22, 2003 23:29 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the making-a-list department...

I've been in contact with Jonathan Thompson recently, and he has asked me to post a poll to gauge general interest in a potential developer tool, codenamed "Project X", which aims to be a full blown integrated development environment (IDE).

Here's what Jonathan wrote to me via email:

"Chris

I was wondering if you would assist me in posting a poll on BeOSJournal.org on what people consider the most important features are to them for a GUI/IDE/RAD environment for BeOS, so I can best figure out how to make the most useful progress the quickest. I have asked people in the past what they want to see in a product, and have a lot of ideas of what to implement, including some that I've not heard anyone else ask for. "Project X" will include the ability to build a project like BeIDE, as well as include a text editor (required for best functionality with the GUI editor and code generation) with some rather unusual features I will not mention at this time."

I've created a poll of items Jonathan wants to target, to gauge community priority. Please feel free to use the forum to post your thoughts and comments about this project, as I'm sure Jonathan will welcome the feedback greatly.
