[email] [print]  Newsletter & DarkWyrm Update.

Mar 26, 2004 15:47 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the round-is-a-shape department...

There's a new OpenBeOS newsletter out, and its chock full of good ideas, both for non-programmers and active developers.

Phil Greenway, better known as Sikosis to us, writes about how you can easily get the latest CVS version of OpenBeOS onto your own BeOS system, and enable you to try out the latest versions of your favorite apps. Michael Phipps pens two articles, "Round Rects Are Here", and "The Best Things in Life are Free (or close to it)".

The "Round Rects" article looks very interesting to me, as it implies sometime in the future OpenBeOS might be able to sport non-rectangular windows with greater ease.

Good news from the DarkWyrm front. The BeOS Community has been superb in responding to the need for funds with which to help DarkWyrm combat his condition, and equipment is on the way... Here's what Michael Phipps has to report:

"The card and check for Darkwyrm went into the mail today. The BeOS community is very, very generous and he will have more than enough to buy the hardware that he needs. Thanks again to all of those who contributed or offered to do so!"

Head on over to their site and read the latest!
