[email] [print]  Packager News From BeClan.

Apr 05, 2004 05:05 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the just-zip-it department...

Some interesting news on Packager, a package/installer project that aims to replace the old Software Valet application in BeOS.

Here's the blurb from BeClan:

"Work has progressed on the packager app and it's slowly taking shape. There are now a number of packages that can be installed, though these are simple and the complicated pieces such as dependancies and upgrading aren't there yet. There is also a preflet for controlling your preferences and the start of a PackageBuilder (think in terms of acorn to oak tree). Also under development has been libpeople though at some point I think this should be split into it's own library as it's useful in it's own right."

It seems 2004 is the year of the code. With all of the recent project updates, the upcoming WalterCon, and more news in our queue, this year is really shaping up nicely, I must say.

Cheers to all you hard working devs out there!
