[email] [print]  OpenBeOS HDD Booting

Apr 21, 2004 15:15 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist.
From the it's-alive!!! department...

Axel Dorfler of the OpenBeOS project today posted to their mailing list that OpenBeOS can now be booted off a partition instead of just a floppy disk, assuming your BIOS supports LBA.

This is an incredibly important milestone in OpenBeOS development, as it now enables testing of other kits and applications on the kernel. Space was limited on the floppy disk to put other software in.

You can read the entire posting, including setup instructions, at Freelists. I'll be wiping my FreeDOS partiton to play with it later on :-)
