[email] [print]  BeOS Titan Port To Be Open Sourced?

Aug 27, 2004 02:07 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist.
From the video-and-midi department...

Those of you who have been around a while (longer than me) may remember Elegant Media's Titan video and MIDI editor, which was to have a BeOS version. Some beta releases of this were made available on BeBits in 2001, but are now gone. However, the BeOS port was never finished, and it was made available for Windows.

The project stalled in 2002, and now the developers are looking to see does anyone want to finish it for BeOS. They also say they are considering open sourcing the Windows version of it.

This could be interesting for the future of media production on BeOS. With the loss of the PostMagic source in a crash, the nearest thing BeOS had to a complete opensource video editing suite disappeared. However, projects such as Virtual BeLive! have appeared since then. This is also opensource, and its sources are available from BeUnited.
