[email] [print]  Woot. We're Back.

Nov 20, 2004 04:35 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the frozen-food department...

Well folks... Sounds like a recurring theme in our community, doesn't it? :)

We're BACK. This time, due in large part to Hurricane Electric, and an anonymous donator in our fine, superb, very generous (hint hint) community.

Here's what happened. I took a minor time-out, got a little depressed for a few weeks as the hosting situation deteriorated, and basically spent weeks scrambling around looking for someone with a credit card to pay for us to get back online.

So, we're back. The question is; for how long? That is where you come in. Anyone out there want to help us by donating the use of a credit card, for our hosting payments? The monthly charge is $24.95 USD, and offers us quite a lot of room to grow as we suspect we will. The recurring monthly payment will actually be paid for by Google AdSense, as you can note by the Google ads on our site.

It is against our contract with Google to ask for you to click them, as I believe the general policy is that Google and the advertisers expect normal traffic in order to offer the ads. Nothing precludes us from pointing out that they are there, however. :)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us. We plan to catch up with the news that happened in our absence, so expect a flurry of news items so we can put them in our archive, for posterity sake. (You wouldn't believe how many hits our Archive gets, so I know it is worth updating.)

One more thing... Some of the site is still not fully functional, so please expect breakage as we get things back in working order.

Enjoy.
