This is one of those articles where I was partly inspired by
something I saw online, and something I've been meaning to say for quite some time, but just never had the time or felt compelled to write it out. Once again some Argentinians have inspired me. :)
Ok, here's my deal for anyone who wants to show how far Haiku/Zeta/BeOS has come in the past few years. Here's a chance to show (again) how colorful, powerful, flexible and downright sexy our machine(s) can look/feel/run using whatever combination of open and closed software we can find, as long as it is BeOS-esque.
My promise to you:
I will once again reinstate the front page desktop thumbnail that randomly shows a desktop from our archive, as well as allow you to add to it by sending us your submissions. Thanks to the generous hosting by
Hurricane Electric we are provided
100 GB of traffic per month.
Here's what I expect of you in return:
Your sexiest screenshots, your most compelling visual reason to want to run Haiku/Zeta/BeOS, and make onlookers drool in earnest as they wait for their download of Personal Edition R5 ISO's to finish. Send all entries to me directly:
cs.haiku@gmail.com.
Ready? Bring it on!
-Chris
(edited: I was confused, your honor! Them rascally Argentinians were responsible after all! :)
