[email] [print]  The Saturday Night News Roundup

Feb 25, 2006 19:34 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist.
From the 4-news-stories-in-one-day department...

Good Evening, here is the news. Presented quickly before I go off down the pub. You probably know the format of these roundups well enough already, so here goes:

BeBits has been relativel quiet since Chris's update earlier this week, however new builds, for BONE and net_server, of Mozilla Seamonkey (ex-Mozilla App Suite) have been placed up for public consumption. This version is the tree source of February 23rd with added optomisations for mouse movements and event processing, faster icon drawing in the download manager, and working bookmark import from NetPositive.

A somewhat strange one next - the Polish Gadu-Gadu instant messanging protocol, which is well supported in BeOS thanks to the large and active BeOS userbase in Poland, is apparently gaining support in Japan. Supporting this, a Japanese translation of BeGadu has been produced. From the screenshots, its quite a feature-full client.

Popular BeOS and Zeta-oriented news site IsComputerOn is still offline, as are the venerable BeGroovy forums. You can stop by here for your news fix in the interim - and why not stay afterwards ;) - and TheGreenBoard forums are still around for any BeOS problems you may have.
