I'd like to introduce Steve Peter who joins our ranks as new Review Editor. He's written a new BeBits App of the Week review, and is looking for suggestions for next week's entry.

Recently the BeOS port of AbiWord was on the chopping block, about to be discontinued as pointed out in AbiWord Weekly News. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon as we hear someone has already stepped forward to help out.

Speaking of writing implements... Slashdot has a story about an author who mentions BeOS in passing. Interesting read to be sure.

Last but not least I would just like to mention that Tyler Dauwalder has released a new version of his UDF filesystem add-on to Bebits. This latest release includes full multi-session support, and an important bug fix when copying files. He naturally asks for feedback so as to further improve the add-on.
