In a
recent blog posting, Bryan Varner has updated the world, well, those that read his blog which probably comprises a lot of the BeOS world, about Haiku's new support for ACPI's thermal status data. This lets you find out the current temperature (currently in Kelvin) and the critical temperature (at which most computers turn themselves off) of your system. As I can't find Bryan on BeShare or understand the code in question I'm not sure if it gives the thermal data off anything else than your core system temperature, but I'll find out...
Update
And
here's Bryan's response to my not understanding. No need to repeat it all here.
Additionally, mmadia gave me the heads-up that
BeOSMax now has
forums on their website. They're a bit bare right now, but seem to be capable of covering nearly everything BeOS related, not just BeOSMax related. Vasper has some other plans underway right now, such as the idea of a
magazine about BeOS/Haiku/ZETA, so the forums are likely to get a bit busier.
