Just a quick reminder that the 16th biannual BeGeistert conference is being hosted in Berlin in a few days - the 20th and 21st of May. Due to reconstruction work on its usual location in Dusseldorf, the Youth Hostel Berlin-Wannsee is playing host to the event this year.

In the past the event has played host to the unveiling of many important BeOS/Haiku/ZETA related items of software or projects, and with many of the major Haiku developers attending this year, some interesting content might be on display.

And on a somewhat connected note, Jonathan Thompson dropped me an email to let me know that the Boardwalk Hotel which hosted last years Waltercon and closed in January, was demolished this morning, apparently "imploded by the use of approximately 170 pounds of explosives". The hotel, which was notably misspelled "Broadwalk" on the official t-shirts, has been demolished as part of a regeneration programme for Las Vegas.
