Following the preview release of Stephen Assmus's Icon-O-Matic along with some sample icons developed with it, Haiku has announced an icon design contest.

Icons for Hard disks, folders, the trash can, optical drives, text and image files, the Person file format, generic excutables, archives, StyledEdit and the Screen preferences panel are requested to be included in your entry to this 'competition', where the prize is having your icons used in R1. Entrents are requested to submit icons in vector format, and as 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64 versions, in PNG format on transperant backgrounds, and to ensure that they are licenced under an MIT compatible licence, preferably the MIT licence itself. 'Bonus points' are stated to be awarded to those who use Icon-O-Matic or manage to keep some resemblence to the spirit of the BeOS icon set.
