In a mail to the OpenBeOS mailing list, Michael Phipps has announced that the third Waltercon will be held in Orlando, Florida on October 28th and 29th of this year. Keeping up its (short) tradition of swapping coasts, the US Haiku user and developer conference is returning to the east coast of the US, making a potential visit by a European-based user or developer about 4 hours of flying each way less painful.

This years conference will have internet access - the then soon-to-be-demolished hotel where the second Waltercon was held did not - and theres no chance for humiliatingly huge gambling losses in Florida. The specific hotel will be confirmed when theres some idea of numbers; but the pricing - $125 for entrance, one nights accomadation and a t-shirt - has already been announced.
