Gabriele Biffi, of BeNQC fame, explains on his blog why modern computers only see 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB. I honestly wasn't even aware this was a concern these days, as I only run with 2GB on my home computer.

It's a very interesting explanation for a potentially annoying issue. Perhaps this is something that will be resolved one day in Haiku, which I certainly hope will be considered by the developers at some point in the future. It doesn't have to be today, tomorrow or even next year, but it should be thought about at the very least.
