[email] [print]  YellowTab Announces ODBC Connectivity

Aug 02, 2003 11:58 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the hark!-who-goes-there department...

Well... Lots of updates recently from YellowTab, and the latest is their announcement of ODBC Connectivity in Zeta.

What does this mean for you? It means that programmers wishing to use a database on the local machine, or remote machines, can do so with the likes of perl, php, python, etc, without having to necessarily install database specific drivers. Instead, simply connecting to the ODBC driver itself (once properly configured) is all that is needed to access/create dynamic content.

This is good news from YellowTab, signs that they are listening to the community, and focusing on the unique technologies that will bring Zeta up to par with other OS's. Click on the above link to learn more information about how this will affect Zeta.
