This comes from both the
yellowTab site and the
LeBuzz site. From Dane's tests, TT is running beautifully in Zeta's Beta (cute), also using a beta version of an upcoming
SoundPlay release.
Dane Scott had this to say:
"The results were extremely encouraging. Indeed, they were essentially letter-perfect. Using a computer we already had, which we knew to be BeOS 5 compatible, we installed Zeta Beta5a without incident. Onto that, we installed the very latest version of TuneTracker 2 Pro (the updated version of TuneTracker that will be coming out this year), a Beta version of the next release of SoundPlay, and a full archive copy of our BeOSRADIO radio station contents.
We dragged a week's worth of program logs into TuneTracker, put it in automation mode, hit start, and away it went. Then, we literally "walked away" and left it running, as one would want to be able to do at a radio station. TuneTracker played for one day, two days, three days, four days, on and on, without a hitch or a stutter. We noticed that one liner cut out about a half-second early, but that was the worst it got."
And he ends up with:
"Our conclusion: Even with Beta versions of Zeta, TuneTracker, and SoundPlay, the system worked together rock-solidly, kept beautiful time, bringing up newscasts dead-on at the exact top and bottom of the hour, and never crashed, locked, or froze-up one time. We're very very pleased and encouraged, and this surely bodes well for the future of all the components involved."
As you can see, TT is running without a hitch in Zeta, and it is assumed most of the currently available applications will do the same, once Zeta is released. Word about this matching also comes from the yellowTab site:
"TuneTracker is the first great commercial application which will bundle Zeta together with it You can be sure others will follow, but more on this later :)"
That hints into some commercial possibilities involving Zeta in the future, which can only be a good thing. And still on the TT-Zeta match, TT will also be available from the yT online shop in the near future.
