[email] [print]  Cosmoe 0.7 rc3 Released.

From the alt.os department...

Bill Hayden has released to public the latest version of Cosmoe (site seems to be down at the moment), his "Compatible Open Source Multi Operating-system Environment".

Cosmoe is a fork from AtheOS, built upon the Linux kernel and uses a BeOS-look-a-like API (which will allow BeOS apps to run on it with some changes to the source).

Many changes from 0.6 to this version, but one that isn't in there is DirectFB. Bill dropped it and this is what he had to say about it:

"DirectFB support has been basically abandoned (by me anyway -- anyone is welcome to take it up), and SDL support is in a proof-of-concept, pre-alpha stage. Yes, I know this sucks. I am not an expert in SDL by any stretch of the imagination, so any assistance here is VERY MUCH appreciated. Use ./configure --enable-sdl to try out SDL support (with expectations held very low) while running under X."

Also, after 0.7 is released, he will put the code into Sourceforge, to enable CVS access to everyone wanting to contribute. So go to his site (when it's back up) and give it a run. Remember, provide feedback.
