From the no coder department...

Got a mail (thanks Brian) about this. A few days ago i posted an item about the AbiWord BeOS port being at risk of being severed from the source tree, if noone stepped forward and started to mantain it. Well now it is done. Here's what was said by Hubert Figuiere:

"Given that we don't have any maintainer for the BeOS port of AbiWord, and given that updating the tree to 2.0 will be quite a lot of work (trust me), I'll drop any BeOS code from CVS for the 2.0 release of AbiWord. This will unclutter the source tree and reduce tarball size.

This decision is final, unless some seriously commit and do something in the BeOS tree. Note that 1.0.x never got released for BeOS, that will probably not change."

So is that it? Some use it, others don't... but OpenOffice is still at the starting gate (the porting project) and Gobe... well, you know about Gobe and Gobe Productive for BeOS. So AbiWord is actually needed if you want a decent word processor. There is still one final chance... will you grab it? Your decision.
