Thomas Kurschell has updated the
Radeon driver on
BeBits to version 3.2.8. With this new version, there is support for the Radeon 9700/9500/9800/9600 series, and problems with shared interrupts should no longer be an issue.
Here's more from Thomas himself:
"Big thanks go to ATI for providing me the Radeon 9700/9500 2D DDK and for donating a Radeon 9700 Pro. Obviously, this driver version would not exist without their support.
Further I want to thank Euan Kirkhope for collecting device IDs and BIOS signatures of newer Radeons and for providing the intermediate R300 driver.
Tested on Radeon 9700 Pro and Radeon 9600. Untested on Radeon 9500 and 9800. Multi-monitor support for these cards
is there but not tested."
That's very kind of
ATI to donate a
Radeon 9700 Pro. The BeOSJournal will be contacting ATI in order to get Thomas a new
Radeon 9800 Pro as well, using the donated funds from the community. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more.

There is quite a bit of discussion in the Radeon driver
Talkback page. If you need to send Thomas or Euan some feedback, that is the page to do so.
