Michael Phipps
reports on the
Haiku website that the long overdue paperwork for the organization has finally arrived, capping almost two years of waiting, and allowing (soon) donations from the general public.
As Michael states:
Yes, you can really believe it! Finally, the paperwork arrived.
So. When can you start donating? There are a few issues. I need to speak with a lawyer who specializes in this sort of thing on a couple of questions that I have. Secondly, I need to open a bank account for Haiku. Then we will be "in business".
I am really excited by this - it is the culmination of almost two years of work and waiting. :-)
This is a very nice achivement, as it affords the opportunity for accepting donations from anyone interested in financially helping the project, money which will most certainly go to the deserving, hard-working developers we all know and love. :)
I'm happy for Michael, for Haiku, and most of all, for us all. This is good. Hopefully the minor issues remaining with a bank account and so forth will be straightened away shortly. I'll contact Michael about it and try to bring you a news update soon.
