The lack of an up to date
Real Player under BeOS is a sore point for many people, but there is still hope.
Hope comes in the form of a port of the
Helix project, an open source project that is able to read Real content (rm/rms) as well as the
ogg vorbis codec, and more.
Remi from
BeOSFrance has been in contact with the Helix Player Project, and asks them how feasible it would be to port to Haiku/BeOS.
They seemed quite enthusiastic about the idea, and would be interested in working with developers from our community to help bring it about.
If you are interested in lending a hand, feel free to contact Remi directly, as he seems wont to take the lead on this idea. Email, obfuscated: remi [ at ] beosfrance [ not ] COM.
