Work has been done to the
Sanity front-end that might bring smiles to BeSANE users.
Version 0.5a of Sanity has been released, marking a 2+ year gap since the last public release of 0.3 in April, 2002.
Phillipe Houdin reports that despite this release being as fully polished as he would like, he felt it was high time to release something to the community. I'm sure many users will agree.
Chief among the new features with this version are collapsable options groups, many improvements in the options area in fact, and a few bugs squashed. Philippe welcome feedback from the community, and I am sure he would be interested in further development given enough prompting by BeSANE users. (hint hint... :)
Be sure to download this version and try it out for yourself, or if you do not have a BeSANE supported scanner just yet, take a gander at a
screenshot of it in action.
Further information about the project can be found on Philippe's
project page, where he additionally works on other noteworthy projects as well.
