Kian "MYOB" Duffy recently compiled the November 18th release of
DOSBox, version 0.63, making it work on BeOS/Haiku and Zeta systems. DOSBox is a program that emulates an x86 PC, providing sound, graphics, and mouse support for programs written for the older
DOS environment. Theoretically it is possible that any program written for the older DOS to
just work, with little tinkering required.
Notable changes are:
- Added unmounting
- Fixed multiple issues with drive labels
- Added redirection in the shell
- Fixed crashes with subst
- Fixed some cpu and fpu instructions
- Added a missing fpu instruction
- Fixed a small bug related to font loading
- Fixed wave writing
- Timer fixes for the hybrid loader
- Some small soundblaster fixes
- Added some cdrom detection checks
- Enabled insert in the shell
