Due to the release of Axel's
Intel Extreme 2 driver for i855 and i865 chipsets,
BeDrivers, who brought us the fund drive to get Jerome Duval an Echo Audio card (resulting in
the driver), are now collecting funds or donations (not loans) of hardware to send Axel for him to expand the support of his driver.
From my personal experience, the driver already works to a fashion on the Intel i830 - doing more than any previous driver ever did and giving me accelerated graphics of sorts.
What hardware will be acquired with funds hasn't been specified, nor has any donatable hardware been suggested - although i81x, i91x and similar is likely to be the target. Intel-chipsetted laptops might be a little bit beyond the reach of the fund, a motherboard with DVI output might enable Axel to work on better support for digitally attached panels.
