Haiku's Bugzilla recently exceeded 700 reported bugs (of which, only
220 are still open, but browsing through the bug list can lead to some interesting finds.
Bug #701, a report of a font insensitivity issue in the About panel, includes
this screenshot of Haiku with over 52 hours uptime. For a pre-alpha OS, this is quite surprisingly high, with even core developer Axel Döaut;rfler expressing surprise at the figure.
Additionally, it appears input methods - the system in BeOS which lets languages which require somewhat more than a 84 key keyboard can provide to write in - now work almost flawlessly, with a replicant handle and a faulty menu being all thats incorrect on the CannaIM Japanese input method, according to
Bug #661.]
Also, it seems that before the end of May, Haiku was unwittingly forcing a hardware upgrade on users of the aged AMD K6-2 processor. This is
now fixed, but
nobody has confirmed if a similar issue affecting even older Pentium 1 systems still exists.
Haiku's Bugzilla provides probably the best indication of the systems progress for those that don't regularly test themselves, and also is obviously the quickest way to get one you find fixed - other than possibly fixing it yourself.
