The Bezilla Day Of Coding which occurred last week appears to have gone off as a success, with a report being posted by Doug "tigerdog" Shelton. One of the main intentions of the day was to get new Firefox builds produced and posted, and these appeared on BeBits, with both trunk (future 3.0) and branch (2.0 RC) builds available for the usual range of architectures - R5, R5 BONE and ZETA.

Additionally, the random freezes which have haunted Firefox on BeOS for quite some time may now be a step closer to being resolved. While always believed to have some connection to SSL usage, random freezes when no SSL was in use had left both users and developers confused, but it now appears that the automatic extension updater - which connections to the SSL Mozilla update site - may be causing this problem. Disabling these updates appears to leave your browser significantly more resilient to random crashing
