This just in... deet de de deet... The fine folks from the
Japan BeOS Network have sent us the following press release:
"We are glad to announce that the Japan BeOS Network (a.k.a. JPBE.net) will be holding its first public BeOS event at Tokyo's popular electrical Akihabara district on Sunday, July 6, from 1:00PM through 7:00PM. Intended to raise awareness of the BeOS platform among Japanese computer users, numerous PCs will be in display to show the latest developments in the BeOS platform, including the yet to be released Zeta product from YellowTAB.

Several BeOS/Zeta demo machines will be on display to show the latest BeOS games, Internet apps, emulation software, productivity apps, graphics apps, audio/video applications, Japanese applications, and the BeOS/Zeta development environment among others. Also shown will be the progress being made on Japanese support in Zeta, as well as numerous Japanese BeOS applications.

This is great news as it means that there will be exposure of BeOS to a completely different market segment from the usual ones known to the long time BeOS Community. The Japan BeOS Network aims to establish itself firmly in Japan, and it looks like this will be the start of some beautiful work there.
