[email] [print]  Christmas Wishes From TBJ...

Dec 24, 2003 13:54 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist.
From the ho-ho-hold-the-mouse department...

Merry Christmas everybody! (Picture the professor from Futurama saying it in your head at the same time. ;)

Seasons greetings to all of the fine readers of our site. Despite it being the holiday season, many people in the BeOS Community are busy coding away at various projects, and checking the forum and the news sites for updates. It must be that we're all geeks or something. Hehe.

I'm glad to have a chance to wish everyone good tidings, as its not often I get to send out a personal message to the readership. It's been a great 2+ years now, and we're still building traffic daily. It may not appear so, but the traffic logs tell me a lot.

And now a few words to various people for various reasons...

I want to thank Michael Weck at CompleXero, our webhost, for without whom, this site would likely not have been online. He's provided us with over two years of FREE hosting, and we're very thankful for that.

I want to give shout outs to all of the kind and generous contributors who have graciously donated money to TBJ through our PayPal account. Some of this money has gone towards purchasing hardware for developers, some has gone to me directly because you've indicated such, some went to our mirror site (tbj.net, no longer online) and some is still in holding for future considerations.

I want to thank Daniel "Daat" Teixeira, who spent quite a bit of time with us writing stories, doing research, and generally helping us in a big way. He helped make this site grow by his enthusiasm, his excitment and good sense of humour, and best of all, his fine words of encouragement and advice behind the scenes. I owe him a lot for his hard work, and wish I could give him a nice xmas present in person to show him how much his hard work has meant to me. But alas, he's in Portugal, and I'm in the Netherlands. ;) Daat, if you are reading this; Thanks.

And last but certainly not least, I want to thank all of the Developers out there who are helping to turn the dream we all have into a viable reality. Not to name names but you know who you are. You are the guys and girls who have earned immense respect and appreciation for bringing your skills to bear on such a magnificant project, and you deserve more than simply a pat on the back. I know that one day, you will be compensated tenfold for your dedication, and I also know that the project(s) you create now will have a good future.

To the future indeed! Raise your glass, say a toast and wish each and every one of us well in our journey to see the dream come true.

Cheers.
