The boys from
BeClan have been busy with adding support for the
Yahoo Messenger protocol to the
IM Kit. In addition to the new protocol, several important bugfixes and features have been added to the growing codebase.
Frank Paul Silye from
IsComputerOn reports on the number of changes with this milestone, including two screenshots:
- A lot of bugs have been fixed (and new ones added)
- MSN protocol. Basic features are now supported. MSN makes use of OpenSSL.
- yahoo! protocol. Basic features are now supported
- Typing notification has been added
- Notification of changes in your buddies statuses
- Work has been done on away messages in the im_server
- Info Popper has been added. A small application that pops up a little information window when something happens in the IM kit.
BeClan has a
mailing list for IM Kit, they meet on IRC regularly (#beosimkit and #beclan on irc.freenode.org), and have a growing
SVN Repository for the project. If you want to help them out, check out the resources linked, and download the newest version, even just to test and give valuable feedback.
Thanks to Frank Paul Silye for reporting the news on ICO, and to the developers working on the project. Keep up the good work!
