Oliver Tappe
brings word (via the
OpenBeOS Mailing List) that another version of
gcc has been created for BeOS.
Oliver has made this release available for download as a zipfile:
http://www.hirschkaefer.de/beos/gcc-2.95.3-beos-release-2.zip, and encourages everyone willing to test it out to provide him feedback, most likely via the Mailing List noted above. Sometime later this week Oliver plans to release this version to BeBits, so stay tuned.
Here's more from Oliver himself:
This archive contains gcc-2.95.3, binutils 2.11.2, new HTMLified documentation and a newer libstdc++.r4.so. It should work for R5, BONE, Dano and Zeta (please refer to the INSTALL file for info on how to install for a specific system).
Unless I've overlooked something, this release compiles the haiku tree at least as good as gnupro-000224 (although this includes choking on several "new" errors that went unnoticed before). Please refer to the README file for further details on known bugs and peculiarities of this release as compared to the gnupro releases.
If you are not yet signed up to the mailing list, consider
joining now, so as to keep abreast of developments. It is free, and easy to receive a daily digest of all the activities presented on-list. Thanks go to Oliver for keeping up the hard work.
