WalterCon 2005 Announced: Are You Going? Apr 24, 2005 18:43 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist From the taking-all-bets department... Michael Phipps announced to the Haiku mailing list on Friday that WalterCon is heading to Vegas for 2005. The conference is changing coasts after having been held in Colombus, Ohio, in 2004 which saw the announcement of the name change, the new logo, as well as the first public demonstration of Java under BeOS. While there is still much to demonstrate with regards to Haiku itself, the project has opted for a more casual conference, less in the style of a product launch, and more in the style of BeGeistert, the reverred bi-annual European BeOS conference. Dates are not yet firmly set, but the conference is expected to be held at the start of August, with attendance fees likely to be $110 USD, covering entrance and a twin room, or $35 USD just for entrance - great if you intend to spend the nights loosing the farm at Vegas's many casinos. Michael would like an approximate estimate of who might be going, and has requested that you contact him at waltercon/AT/haiku-os/DOT/org with your confirmation.
