Pixel32 Announces Full HDR Support. May 18, 2005 22:01 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the all-in-the-details department... The good folks at Pixel32 release news that their flagship product, Pixel, now fully supports High Dynamic Range (HDR for short, see Wikipedia.), a set of techniques that allow a far greater dynamic range of exposures than normal digital imaging techniques. "The intention of HDR is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to the deepest shadows", as per Wikipedia.org. Not being a professional photographer, the above only just makes sense to me, but I think I get the gist of it. It is good to see such a major feature come to a long-developed product like Pixel. Good also to know that these type of features will be incorporated into all platforms it is built for. A nice bonus for us BeOS users, to be sure. :P You want screenshots of course, I can sense the force is strong in you, dear reader... Well, clickey clickey below, young padawan: Realtime Exposure in action. Details despite the darkness.
