Summaries WIKI For Glass Elevator Aug 06, 2005 15:25 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the banded-about department... Danny Robson wrote to the Glass Elevator Mailing List that he has set up a new WIKI for some of the ideas banded about in the list. Here's his introductory email stating such: Hi all, About a year ago I started doing some thread by thread summaries of the GE list but had to stop because of time restraints. More recently I came into possesion of an amount of web server space and decided to set up a couple of wiki's. One of these being used to hold some of the summaries so I could continue them again whenever I had the chance. After some people started voicing concerns recently that there havent been any concrete ideas from this list I figured I might put this wiki out in the open, at http://ge.blubinc.com/ It could provide a method to show a concrete list of potential R2 ideas this list has discussed. Additionlly, after summarising and collating the content it's a lot easier to spot potential weakpoints as well as helpful relationships between proposals. Anyway, I'll leave it at that and see what you all think, Danny I've browsed the WIKI and I think it has great potential to both harness and foster some of the more prominant ideas the list contains. Over the years there has been much written in the way of new, exciting ideas for Haiku R2 (and beyond) but what has been lacking till now is a way to catalog and characterize these into some browsable fashion. Thanks to Danny's hard work, I expect the WIKI to grow as an additional resource for discussion and contribution of ideas by our beloved community. Thanks Danny, and of course, thanks to the hundreds of people who put forth their thoughts on making Haiku a better OS to begin with. Now what are you waiting for? Go... read! Cheers.
