Quick as a Fox Sep 18, 2005 23:31 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the softer-menus department... Over at BeBits there's some buzz as people download and try out a modded up version of Firefox titled QuickFox. As Mr X. makes us aware in the patch notes: QuickFox is a 'mod' of mozilla/firefox bleeding edge. From order of importance: Speed, Useability, Looks, Reliability. It runs and loads in a RAMfilesystem. It sports a fully automatic Installation that will take care of everything for you. Includes auto setup on boot and shutdown to save your settings. Version 2 of the modded Firefox makes use of a new skin, is smaller in size (good for your modem users), has increased back/forward navigation speed and loads quicker. A net_server build is slated for later development, once Mr X. finds the time. Be sure to drop a note in the Talkback if you have an issue. Mr X. has been quick to respond, and I'm sure he would welcome the feedback.
