Studio-33 Reviews Latest Haiku Build Feb 14, 2006 20:10 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the by-thy-command-line department... Jean Marc submitted to us the news that Studio-33 has a review of build 16374 of Haiku. In the review the author went through the requirements for installing Haiku, getting it booting, and finally what he was able to do with it once installed. For anyone not familiar already with how far along Haiku has come, it is an excellent review covering the high points of Haiku development, along with the necessary caveats about what not to expect and do in this build. The author places special emphasis on the aspects of Haiku that need serious polishing up, such as the lack of saving settings for the Screen and Virtual Memory preflets, among other shortcomings. Not that these issues were showstoppers, mind you, but they should be taken into consideration by anyone willing to try out the latest build. Despite english being the author's apparently second language, it is a decent and thorough enough review of Haiku, and shows just how far along it has come in such a short time.
