DarkWyrm Update. Jul 17, 2003 10:05 UTC, by Daniel, Senior Journalist From the app_server woes department... DarkWyrm has updated his site once again, bringing us a status update on his work with the app_server. Here's what he wrote: "I haven't posted much lately just because I've been keeping busy. This time, however, it was not Real Life(TM) but just lots of things I'm doing, like more interface design study and working on the app_server. One could say that I've been eating, sleeping, and breathing OpenBeOS the last couple weeks. The server is making headway again, and so is Appearance. Appearance hasn't received much attention of late, and I've implemented a number of fixes. There has been a major restructuring of the code in the server, Appearance, and the window decorators in order to keep the code in sync and to reduce bugs. We have some nice decorators now, as well. I took a few days and cleaned up the BeOS one, made the Windows look the way it should, and added a classic Mac OS decorator. They still need work, but the difference is like night and day in some instances. Customizable system colors also work properly, as evidenced here. The Decorator SDK plans are being redone to make the test suite much, much easier to use before any code is written. Support for system cursors has begun on both user and server sides with no API changes. This is not to say that R2 won't have any changes to this, however. There have been other miscellaneous little fixes made which are too numerous to list. Still here and still coding. :)" Nice progress, if I do say so myself. And already he is working on cursor support... nice. Stay tuned as we bring you other updated as they happen.
