Ethernet Drivers Added to OpenBeOS. May 04, 2004 14:22 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the engrishation department... This just in from the mailing list frontlines... In addition to being Mr. Media Guy, Marcus Overhagen has been busily adding network drivers to the OpenBeOS CVS. The new drivers are: - via-rhine, donated under BSD license by the original author, Richard Houle. Developers from YellowTab Inc. fixed some bugs on this driver and contributed them back. - rtl8169, a Gigabit ethernet adapter driver, written by Marcus himself. - ipro1000, another Gigabit ethernet adapter driver, ported by Marcus from FreeBSD. If you have network cards that use these chipsets, please consider downloading the new drivers and testing them out. Philippe Houdoin, team leader for the Network Kit, mentioned on the mailing list that he will be adding a new page to track which network drivers are completed, their status, and the hardware capabilities as well.
