ATI Radeon Driver Updated, Video-in Supported. Jun 16, 2004 15:24 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the snowscreen department... Thomas Kurschell has recently added Video-in support to the ATI Radeon Graphics driver. He posted an update to BeBits, which now brings the driver to version 4.1, sporting a host of video-in related fixes. Some of the changes below: Added Video In support for cards with Rage Theatre (not Rage Theatre 200). supports NTSC, NTSC-J, NTSC-443, PAL-M, PAL-N, PAL-NC, PAL-BDGHI, PAL-60, SECAM (tested with NTSC and PAL-BDGHI) capture resolutions up to 640x480 (NTSC), 768x576 (PAL) uses DMA to significantly reduce CPU load built-in colour space converter for GREY8, RGB15, RGB16 and RGB32 (the capture hardware only supports YCbCr422, so you should use that if possible to avoid CPU load) limited tuner support for AIW cards: NTSC code is built-in (but untested), PAL is missing The new package also has an automatic intall/uninstall feature, which makes it far easier to test and try out without resorting to a Terminal. (Some people are skittish this way. ;) Thanks to Das Jott for that feature. Thomas, good job man! Now we'll leave you alone, as we anticipate your next release... ;)
