Java Webserver On BeOS. Jun 20, 2004 19:34 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the byte-sized department... Well, you see now what locking away some developers in a basement somewhere can do for us? :) Andrew Bachmann and a few of the other developers at WalterCon whipped up this little test demo of a real Web Server working under Java, running on BeOS, being accessed from other computers across their LAN. Wicked! What good is a Web Server in Java, I hear you asking... Well, its proof that the networking code in Java on BeOS works, for starters. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... 2004 is -the- year of the code for us all. There is more to come folks, hang on tight! *UPDATE 20:57* Andrew just demonstrated an IRC Bot running on the Java Web Server, running on BeOS. :) Yes, that's right... an IRC Bot. More news as it happens in the next update.
