WalterCon 2004: Mini-Interview With Sikosis. Jun 20, 2004 23:48 UTC, by Chris Simmons, Senior Journalist From the combed department... I also managed to chat with Sikosis, team leader of the Preferences Team for Haiku. Just three quick questions, so here they are: Now that there is a new Haiku website, how does this affect your Gravity website? Well the idea is that all the sites I've been running will be combined into the new one. I've just been waiting to get access, but I've kinda been waiting for WalterCon to go through before I started hassling people for access. I know that you've been quite busy with real life issues, but can you tell us what is the number one priority with the Preferences team at this point? I guess I'd like to see as many of those binary apps that are at 60-70% to get completed. I'm not overly a fan of having uncompleted work that's half finished, That's where all my personal projects usually end up, so I'd like to see them finalized. It was decided on the weekend that the Network Teams' DialupPreflet test they were working on is going to replace my Dialup Networking app. I was ok with it, but a little disappointed as I'd worked so hard on it, being my first assignment on this project. What was your defining moment at this years WalterCon? Hrmm, well Java was great news. I wasn't even aware of that ;) I'm not a fan of Java, but I can see it's potential to bring new apps and developers to our platform. That can only be a good thing. The new name of course ;) The HD booting demo ... Getting to see photos of the Haiku crew ... :) Thanks Sikosis. Sure, no probs...
