Updated MESA Port. Aug 21, 2004 00:07 UTC, by Kian Duffy, Senior Journalist From the fast-spinning-teapots department... Phillipe Houdoin recently posted an updated version of the Mesa3D OpenGL library to BeBits. The update brings the BeOS port to version 6.1, the current on all platforms. Phillipe now also has write access to the Mesa CVS repository, ensuring the BeOS port will continue to build from CVS. This new version supports OpenGL 1.5 and has improved compatibility with the BGLView classes. It also iincludes a replacement GLUT library for the first time. Mesa3D will be the default OpenGL library in Haiku, and will be the way by which Hardware 3D acceleration can eventually be brought to the platform.
